Online Payments (2002+)

Destruction of the Label/Rise of Live music – Napster!
Social Media – desktop (MySpace, Facebook, Twitter) … tons of time on it
AWS and Cloud Computing – realize AWS is Amazing @ HHS vs CGI Federal
YouTube – Watching loads of it
Social Media – mobile (Instagram, Whatsapp) – “Insta”
2010 Housing Market – Short sales, foreclosures, oh my!
Solar and Wind Energy(?) – never really had the ah-hah moment
Domino’s Pizza – CEO admits their product sucks and rode the wave up. @DHH comments I think.
Crytpocurrency (2013)– Fred Wilson “new stuff”
Instant Pot/Pressure Cooking (2018) – Recommended from Squid
Shopify Stores/Influencer Economy (2018’ish) – Was working with Colab and using Shopify. Then also with Rebel Girls. Shopify was already IPOd. So clearly the future of economy and small brands. Didn’t wind up buying until June 2020, by then I missed a 9x runup.
Substack/Individual as Company (2020) – Perhaps a continuation of the Shopify/Influencer economy, but it is becoming very clear that more and more people will become writers and make a living out of it. I mean writer kind of generally, but they will have a direct relationship to their audience and own their brand. They will write, speak, vlog at them. This is super clear in the gaming space now where it almost makes more sense to be a streamer than a pro (often both). It feels like it is happening in mainstream media. Definitely happening in smaller niches of media (Steven Crowder as politics, Joe Rogan as curiosity/male). This is less about being right and more about belonging.
[A guess] Eating food out of pouches (2020) – Kids doing it. We will do it in nutritional form soon I think. Just needs branding. Saw Eyva eating her smoothie in the pouch and talked w/Kathy about soups going in there.
